Hi! Hopefully by now you've worked out I'm called Tristan. you can find out more about me from the sections below...

Technology

In my professional life, I am a software engineer. I work on embedded systems using programming languages such as Ada, C and C++. I fell into Software engineering after completeing a degree in Robotics. This covered all sorts of things such as structural design, mechanical movement, analogue and digital circuits, programming, artificial intelligence and even web development. This left me as a jack of all trades engineering and computer science graduate. During my degree I found myself learning to code quickly and found it was something I was both good at and enjoyed hence persuing a career in this area.

In my own time I like to explore web development, the fruits of which can be seen through this site. I also like to follow closely the missions to Mars, particularly the Rovers, as well as keeping up to date with the comercial technology industry, particularly the home computing market and Mobile technologies.

Scouting

In my time out of the office, as much as I love to emersre myself in the world of tech, I also like to get away from it and enjoy the nateral world. My idea of the perfect evening involves being far away from the fast pace of life, living in a hammock or tent, and sitting round a campfire with good company.

I have been involved in scouting from the age of 6. As a small child, I was quite shy, and found it difficult to make friends, but scouting helped me to overcome these things. It taught me valuable skills such as cooking, teamwork, and communication. As it helped me to become the person I am today, I feel the need to pass on the experiences and provide new ones for the next generations. Today I am a Cub scout leader where I can do just that.

Theatre

When not teching or scouting, I spend what remaining time I have at my local amature theatre as a sound and lighting techie.

During my time at school, my exta curicular activities included muisc and drama. Though not a regular player anymore, I have achieved Grade 5 on Clarinet, I did undertake basic piano lessons, and I have an A-level in Muisc. IT was during my years at seccondarry school I explored my musical talents, and found my main love/skillset were arround arranging and writing music. Since leaving school, Ihave struggled to find an outlet for this skill untill I found the Barn theatre, where I first got involved in putting together sound effects and sourcing music to accompany the action on stage.

In my time with the theatre I have been involved in most aspects of production including taking roles on stage occasionally. I have statge managed, I have designed and rigged lighing, I have even helped soucre props and have been known to make costume repairs, But my main love is to work on darker more sinister thrillers in the audio department by helping create a soundtrack that makes the atmosphere of the show come alive.

Creativity

Occasionally I find other creative outlets such as writing, and photography or lego building. For a long time I have kept these things mostly to myself, but as I have a website - I felt uploading a few of them here would be a good idea

On writing, it's not something I do often, but occasionally, somethin makes an impression on me, or inspiration hits. on the rare occasion it stays in my head long enough for me to find time to write it down, I manage to capture it. I wouldn't say my writing is anything special, but I'll leave that to my readers to descide.

On photography, as a scout, I get to travel a lot. in my travels I quite often take photos, usually on my phone. i've never really done anything with them but I have a lot of them, so I've started uploading some here partly as a backup, and partly to share. Please feel free to wander through this site and see what you can diacover.

On lego, I may be in my 30s, but I still own a lot of lego - Particularly lego Mindstorms sets. Occasionally, very occasionally I get to build something.
